I spoke with the Barista at ModCup today with the name of Steve, this was their Riverview-Fisk park location in Union City and he was mentioning a pour-over method called 4:6 by Tetsu Kasuya who used this method to win the 2016 World Brewers Cup.

The method gets the name from dividing the pouring of hot water into two stages consisting of 40% and 60% of the hot water. So hypothetically if you had 300g of total water to pour, you would divide this into two buckets using the 4:6 ratio to get 120g of hot water in the first stage and 180g of hot water in the second stage. These are the two stages, but each stage can be further separated into additional pours. The general idea being the first stage is responsible for the balance of the cup (sweetness vs acidity), and the second stage is responsible for the concentration. Here is a blog article that goes over the method more thoroughly.
