Chase Aeroplan Credit Card
Core Value Proposition
The Chase Aeroplan card is a cobranded airline credit card that grants automatic elite status (Aeroplan 25K) for a $95 annual fee.1 Its primary value comes from three sources: the sign-up bonus, elite status benefits, and its integration with the Chase Ultimate Rewards ecosystem.
Unlike most airline cards where value is tied to flying that specific airline, the Aeroplan card derives significant value from its 10% permanent transfer bonus on Ultimate Rewards points2 — making it valuable even if you rarely fly Air Canada.

Elite Status & Baggage Rules

Baggage benefits apply to Air Canada flights only. Two separate benefits exist:713

|---|---|---|

Star Alliance Silver (included with 25K) provides minimal partner value — only priority waitlist and standby.15 No free bags, lounge access, or priority boarding on United, Lufthansa, or other partners.
Basic Economy exemption: 25K status exempts you from Air Canada’s carry-on restriction on Basic Economy fares, which otherwise allow only a personal item on North American routes.16
