Attend and be prepared for Jyot’s wedding week, July 5–11, 2026 in the Brampton / Toronto area. Cover time off work, attire for every event, travel/logistics, money, and the wedding dance.
Context
Jyot is family. The wedding is the anchor event behind the Thailand Trip (his bachelor party, May 2026) and the Wedding Attire & Dress Shirts effort. Aman is in the wedding party (group attire coordination + dance practice). This note is the umbrella for the wedding itself; reception/dads’ attire is tracked in the linked note.

- Reschedule the Mon Jul 6, 7 PM therapy appt (Joshua Szporn) — conflicts with the evening event
- Confirm whether Two Sigma is closed Fri Jul 3 (US July 4th observed) so the travel day is free

- Toronto activity list: rough plan of non-wedding things to do so the week doesn’t feel overwhelming
- Money: coordinate with mom on what to add to account / what she’ll send
- Wedding dance: figure out approach given no practice + knee issues — talk to Jyot

Notes
Reception suit (decided direction)
Cost-conscious on purpose: planning to lose weight, so a pricey “long-term” suit wouldn’t get reuse. Buy cheap off-the-rack that fits now, wear a handful of times, donate later.
- Where: Men’s Wearhouse or Jos. A. Bank (frequent BOGO sales → ~$150–300 tailored). Both cut fuller/classic and stock big & tall — better for broad shoulders + belly than slim brands.
- Fit: ask for classic / executive fit (not slim). Buy to fit shoulders + chest, tailor the waist. ~6’2”/240 → likely ~48–50 Long.
- Color: warm-toned navy (on-palette, safe, widely stocked); warm charcoal as backup. Avoid cool gray and flat black per Color & Skin Tone (both make olive skin look ashen). Burgundy/forest green flatter most but are hard to find cheap off-the-rack.
- When/where to buy: in NJ before flying Jul 3 so it can be tried on, tailored, and packed. Do not leave it to Toronto (overwhelming during wedding week).
- Ruled out: Suitsupply (~$700 all-in — too much given weight-loss plan); fast fashion H&M/Zara/ASOS (cut slim/small — bad for build); rental (US online ship/return window doesn’t fit a Jul 3–13 cross-border trip).
- Separate from the India-tailor thread in Wedding Attire & Dress Shirts (dads’ shirts + Jyot’s suit).

Eastern time throughout (Toronto = NY/NJ clock), so no offset to manage.

Net PTO: ~1 full day (Fri Jul 10) + 2 half-days (Tue Jul 7, Thu Jul 9). Sat Jul 11 reception and Sun Jul 5 Bakra are weekend. Build in slack: prep, dance practice, and family time will bleed into the “work remote” days, so treat those as light-work days.
Conflict: recurring therapy appt “Joshua Szporn” (LifeStance/Zoom) on Mon Jul 6 7:00–8:00 PM ET overlaps the evening event — reschedule that week.
